YOUR NOVEMBER TO DO LIST.


Get your "to do list" based on the the area you live.

Information and to do lists are organized by the plant hardiness zones across Canada, United States, and Europe. If you do not know what planting zone you live in check the chart for the country you live in.

ZONES 1-3

  • Mix manure into all beds if the soil is not frozen.
  • Clean up and store trellises, cages, bean poles, and stakes.
  • Store, clean and sharpen garden tools.
  • Now is the time to reflect on the past season.
  • Relax!
ZONES 4-5

  • Finish fall harvesting.
  • Dig and store root crops and store cool, moist sand or peat moss and place in your root cellar.
  • Collect fall leaves - shred them, and mulch your beds or save to use in your compost over the winter.
  • Mix manure into all garden beds.
  • Clean up and store trellises, cages, bean poles, and stakes.
  • Finish garden clean up before the rain starts.

ZONES 6-7

  • Finish fall harvesting.
  • Plant empty areas with a cover crop of rye or oats.
  • Collect leaves and grass clipping than use them to mulch your garden beds or to add to your compost pile.
  • Turn your compost every few weeks to keep it working.
  • Clean up and store trellises, cages, bean poles, and stakes.

ZONES 8-10

  • Feed brassica family plants like cabbage diseased foliage.
  • Collect and shred fall leaves and store to use in your compost over winter or place them as mulch on your garden beds.
  • Keep salad greens and leafy veggies productive as long as possible by using cold frames, floating row covers, or other protective shelters.
  • Clean foliage from tomato cages or supports and place into dry area.
  • Dig soil on empty beds and mulch or plant a cover crop.
